Iran has increased its defense spending by 3 times in next year's budget

Government Spokesperson Fatma Muhajarani commented on the developments at a press conference in the capital Tehran.

Stating that every effort has been made to meet defense needs in next year's budget, the draft of which has been approved by the parliament, Muhajarani said, "Special attention has been paid to this issue. For this reason, the country's military budget has been significantly increased by more than 200 percent," he said.

Asked about Iran's view on the U.S. presidential elections, Muhajarani said, "The issue of this election concerns the American people, and it doesn't matter to us which of these two candidates is elected."

Stating that they hope that the president-elect in the United States will respect the national sovereignty of other countries and abandon policies that cause tensions in the region, Muhajarani said, "This will benefit their people. Every time the U.S. has increased tensions in the regions, it has seen its losses," he said.

Muhajarani said that the process of building a wall on the country's eastern borders to combat irregular migrants continues, and the deportation of foreign nationals without permission also continues.
