In an interview with Defensehere.com Colonel Army S. Iskandar, the Deputy Director of Technology & Defense Industry at Indonesian Ministry of Defense, presented the Indonesian Defense Industry.
He said that they have been participating at ADAS Exhibition since 2016 with state-owned and private companies. He pointed out the importance of the exhibition which is an opportunity for the Indonesian Defense Industry to promote their products.
He also said that they are running an offset program, which allows Indonesia to procure defense technologies from other countries with sophisticated technology.
The PT Pindad medium tank, constructed by the Turkish firm FNSS, is an example to the collaboration of the Indonesian Defense Industry with the aim to enhance the capacity and the capability of Indonesia, as stated by Mr. Iskandar.
Mr. Iskandar has also said that currently they have 208 defense companies, of which 8 of them are state-owned.
