Hanwha Systems has been developing electronic systems including radars, multifunctional radars, and electro-optical systems for the Korean Defense for over 20 years. It is now investing in space industry with its products such as SAR (Synthetic-Aperture Radar) Observation Satellite and key components like the optical intersatellite link and the electronically steerable antenna for the communication satellite.
In an interview with Defensehere.com Tae Hun Ahn, the Global Business Development at Hanwha, said the following:
“The observation satellite is like the eyes of the human body. It will monitor the earth conditions to make sure nothing happens in certain areas. Starting from the end of this year, we are going to have 40 satellites in one constellation. To make sure we can monitor the area in every 30 minutes.”
He also stated that with the aid of the observation satellite, you can observe and detect the danger areas and help with the rescue operations. Ahn also mentioned the case of Ukraine, where the satellite would be of use to see the current situation of the war.
