Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri on Monday announce a partnership with Accenture Italia to accelerate digital innovation in the maritime sector.
“This collaboration aims to empower our #FincantieriNexTech and Accenture to jointly accelerate digital transformation initiatives outlined in our Industrial Plan,” the company wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, said that their Industrial Plan makes it clear that they aim to “be pioneers in industrializing new digital solutions, focusing on managing the entire lifecycle of a ship, not just its construction.”
“We are proudly expanding Fincantieri's ambitions to include the logical domain of ships, building on our undisputed leadership in the physical domain, with validated solutions such as energy efficiency and predictive maintenance,” Folgiero said.
He added that they see Accenture “as a partner that will enhance our operational presence in Italy and abroad, boost our credibility with global clients, and strengthen our investment capacity and business development capabilities for services on an international scale.”
Through technological platforms, advanced digital services, and innovative solutions, Fincantieri aim to bring on board a future that is “even smarter, safer, and more efficient.”
