The renowned Brazilian aerospace company, Embraer, has announced a significant investment of up to $70 million to expand its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in the United States. This expansion will be centered around a new state-of-the-art service center at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, aimed at supporting the growing fleet of Embraer’s popular E-Jets. The investment, which has been approved by the Fort Worth City Council, is expected to create approximately 250 new skilled aviation jobs in the region.
The project will be carried out in two phases. Embraer plans to begin operations in an existing hangar at the airport by the second quarter of 2025. Simultaneously, construction of a new advanced facility will commence, with completion expected in 2027. This new center will increase Embraer’s capacity to service its U.S. customers by 53%, marking a major step forward in the company’s commitment to the American market.
Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, “We are thrilled to receive final approval for this important growth of our MRO business, reinforcing our ongoing investment in the U.S. market.” Naufel emphasized Embraer’s strong relationship with the State of Texas and the importance of their partnership with Hillwood, the developer of the AllianceTexas project.
Local leaders were equally enthusiastic about the new project. Ross Perot Jr., Chairman and CEO of Hillwood, said, “We are excited to welcome Embraer, a global leader in aviation, to Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport and North Texas. This facility will bring 250 high-quality jobs to the region, further strengthening our role as a key hub for aerospace innovation.” He also highlighted the growing importance of North Texas in the global aerospace industry.
Robert Allen, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, also praised the project, calling it “a clear testament to Fort Worth’s robust aerospace and defense sector.” He added that the collaboration with Embraer and Hillwood will have a lasting positive impact on both the industry and the local community.
Officials from Denton County, which will also benefit from the new facility, welcomed Embraer’s investment. Denton County Judge Andy Eads expressed confidence that the new facility will further enhance the region’s reputation as an important player in the aviation sector, providing well-paying jobs to local residents. Denton County Precinct 4 Commissioner Dianne Edmondson echoed these sentiments, underscoring the importance of partnerships with companies like Embraer for the county's long-term economic growth.
Once completed, the new service center will join Embraer’s extensive global network, which includes 80 authorized and 12 owned service centers. This expansion will further strengthen Embraer’s ability to support its growing fleet of commercial jets, solidifying Fort Worth’s position as a major hub for aerospace innovation and operations in the U.S.
