Embraer has announced it will showcase its KC-390 Millennium multi-mission tactical airlift at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025, to be held from 20 to 24 May. The display is part of the company’s growing push to expand its defense portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region.
Visitors to Embraer’s booth (C013) and outdoor display area will have the opportunity to view the KC-390, a next-generation military transport aircraft that entered service in 2019.
“Embraer is proud to bring the KC-390 to LIMA 2025. It is a new generation military airlift with multi-mission capability, interoperability, reliability, low life-cycle cost, and high performance at its core. The aircraft is gaining traction around the world, and we look forward to expanding our footprint in the Asia Pacific region,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.
Powered by IAE V2500 engines, the KC-390 offers higher speed (470 knots), greater range, and a 26-ton cargo capacity—outperforming other aircraft in its class. It is designed for operations on unpaved or temporary runways and in diverse climates, including humid, hot, cold, and high-altitude conditions.
The KC-390 supports a wide range of missions: cargo and troop transport, airdrop, MEDEVAC, SAR, humanitarian relief, firefighting, and aerial refueling—both as tanker and receiver. Its integrated electronic warfare suite and secure communication systems ensure high survivability and connectivity between aircraft, command units, and ground forces.
The aircraft has achieved a 99% mission accomplishment rate and is already in service with Brazil, Portugal, and Hungary, with orders from South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, and an undisclosed customer. It was also recently selected by Sweden and Slovakia.
Embraer defense platforms are already in use across Southeast Asia, with the A-29 Super Tucano operated by Indonesia and the Philippines. Regional support is anchored by Embraer’s APAC office and distribution center in Singapore.
In the past two decades, Embraer has designed, certified, and delivered 21 different aircraft platforms, highlighting its engineering capabilities in defense aviation.
