EDGE Group continues to strengthen its position in Latin America through substantial investments and collaborative defense programs. Speaking to DefenseHere.com, Miles Chambers, Vice President of International Business Development, outlined the group’s approach to regional engagement and industrial partnerships.
“Latin America presents unique security needs, particularly in border and internal security and we offer integrated solutions tailored to those requirements” Chambers said.
EDGE’s current portfolio includes autonomous UAVs, loitering munitions, electronic warfare systems, naval products, guided weapons, and small arms, many of which are being considered across multiple countries in the region.
The company has established a permanent presence in Brazil and has invested more than 3 billion reais in the Brazilian market, including stakes in Condor and SIATT. These investments support local capabilities while enabling co-development and localized delivery of advanced defense technologies.
Through SIATT, EDGE is engaged in joint programs with the Brazilian Navy—notably the MANSUP anti-ship missile and with the Brazilian Army for an anti-tank guided missile system.
Beyond Brazil, EDGE is actively pursuing opportunities for collaboration across Latin America, with an emphasis on working with domestic industries. “Partnering with local companies allows us to deliver sustainable, in-country solutions that generate employment, encourage innovation, and ensure long-term support for the systems we provide,” he added.
Chambers emphasized that EDGE is not seeking short-term contracts, but rather long-term partnerships that bring value to national defense ecosystems: “We are here to contribute meaningfully, not just through products, but through capacity building and shared technological development.”
