Counter-UAS version of BAE Systems’ AMPV unveiled at MSPO

In an interview with Defensehere.com Director at BAE Systems, Paul Zukowski, talked about the company's products used in the Polish army and their new program, the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle program.

Zukowski stated that they first had a presence in Poland with land products and solutions. Stating that they have a broad portfolio at the point reached today, he said that there are also naval guns for the Polish Navy for various ship upgrades and precision-guided solutions as part of the helicopter program.

He also said that the company is involved in the ABRAMS tank program and that they also produce the M88A2 Hercules vehicle, which is the recovery vehicle of the ABRAMS tank, and other heavy track vehicles that are in the Polish army.

Zukowski also talked about the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle program, a new program for the U.S. Army. Emphasizing that this program is intended to replace M113 vehicles, he said that they produce AMPV vehicles with 5 variants. What makes the vehicle special is that it has a chassis made with protection and mobility in mind, and it can be easily used with Abrams tanks.

In addition to these, he also mentioned that since they produce AMPVs completely themselves in variants, various configurations can be easily made for local needs at any time.

Finally, he stated that they also introduced a counter-UAS prototype, a demo version of the AMPV and that the tests continue.
