Swedish cybersecurity company Clavister has secured a SEK 68 million (approximately $6.7 million) contract to provide its CyberArmour solutions for BAE Systems Hägglunds’ CV90 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) platform. The contract, which spans a three-year period, includes an option that could bring the total value to SEK 96 million (approximately $9.5 million). Initial deliveries are set to begin in early 2027.
In parallel, Swedish defense technology company MilDef has received a SEK 40 million (approximately $3.9 million) order for ruggedized network equipment, which will be integrated into the CV90 vehicles as part of the advanced cybersecurity solution. This equipment is a key sub-component of the Clavister CyberArmour system, an AI-powered, military-grade firewall designed to enhance the protection of military networks.
MilDef’s hardware has been customized to meet Clavister’s specifications, ensuring smooth integration with the CV90 platform. The collaboration between Clavister and MilDef combines advanced cybersecurity software with rugged hardware to address the growing need for enhanced cybersecurity in modern defense operations.
The CV90 vehicles, which will be deployed in both a Scandinavian country and an Eastern European nation, will benefit from this integrated solution, safeguarding both the vehicle and its crew from evolving cyber threats.
Daniel Ljunggren, CEO of MilDef, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “The combination of our ruggedized hardware and Clavister’s leading software creates the best conditions for next-level cybersecurity. We are proud to contribute to the modernization of European defense.”
Clavister CEO John Vestberg highlighted the significance of strong cybersecurity in the digital age of defense, adding, “Clavister and MilDef build on a long-standing relationship where software meets robust hardware. With the increasing digitization of armed forces, the need for enhanced cybersecurity is clear. MilDef is the perfect partner for equipping the defense capabilities of the future.”
