Boeing has put the F-15 fighter at the front and center of its DIMDEX exhibition, highlighting its best-in-class payload, range and speed to help global air forces achieve their air dominance requirements. According to Boeing, the F-15 is designed to deliver value to the U.S. Air Force and potential international customers and it will be a backbone fighter for the next several decades.
“While the F-15EX’s payload, range, and speed are well known, its true advantage is beneath the surface. It’s new digital core ensures it is designed to be future-ready from the ground up to integrate emerging technologies and systems seamlessly. The F-15EX’s payload capabilities are exceptional. The Eagle II’s speed and range put it in a league of its own and will keep the warfighter several steps ahead of the adversary while increasing the survivability of any mission. This fighter is not just crafted for today's battles but the battles of tomorrow," said Matt “Phat” Giese, Boeing F-15 Chief Pilot.
"The F-15 has been a constant presence for decades in the Middle East and is in service with several air forces in the region. The F-15EX is derived from the F-15 Qatar Advanced fighter jet but features some new capabilities. With increasing interest from current and potential customers, the F-15EX is a testament to the fighter’s enduring capabilities and innovation," said Kirk Schultz, Regional Director, International Business Development, Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
The F-15 advanced fighter currently serves the air forces of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Japan and South Korea, along with increased interest in the fighter from other air forces, including Indonesia and Poland. The Qatar F-15QA shares significant commonality with the U.S. Air Force’s latest F-15EX variant.
The F-15EX’ digital backbone, latest mission systems and software capabilities and the capacity to carry hypersonic weapons, makes it a key element of the U.S. Air Force’s tactical fighter fleet. Having one of the most successful track records, with more than 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat, the F-15 represents continuous technological innovation to push the boundaries in air dominance. The F-15EX's ability to carry a full dozen missiles outperforms many other US Air Force fighter jets.
The F-15EX on offer to air forces is built with the latest mission systems and software capabilities and designed from day one to seamlessly plug in new technologies such as next-generation sensors, hypersonic payloads, and manned-unmanned teaming –that better aligns with the militaries’ anticipated needs for future warfare.
