Baghdad hosts global defense giants at IQDEX 2025

Iraq is hosting the 13th edition of the International Defense Exhibition (IQDEX) which is kicked off on April 19 at the Baghdad International Fairground, bringing together leading defense companies from across the world. The event will run until April 22, 2025, under the patronage of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces.

IQDEX 2025 serves as a strategic platform for defense manufacturers and decision-makers to showcase their latest land, air, and naval technologies in one of the Middle East’s most dynamic defense markets. This year’s edition features participation from major industry players representing Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

From Europe, KNDS, Thales, and Airbus are presenting their latest capabilities. Turkish defense leaders ASELSAN and Sarsılmaz are also showcasing their advanced technologies. China is represented by NORINCO, while Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport is exhibiting its wide range of military products. From South Asia, Pakistan’s DEPO and GIDS are attending, and from South Korea, KAI and LIG are taking part in the event. A number of other local and international defense companies are also participating, reflecting the exhibition’s broad global reach.

In addition to the main exhibition, IQDEX 2025 includes a series of side events focused on emerging defense technologies. Notably, a Cybersecurity Conference will be held on April 22, organized in collaboration with Iraq’s Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and United Company for Exhibitions and Conferences.

Held under the auspices of the Iraqi Armed Forces, the conference will address pressing issues in cybersecurity, defense innovation, and the protection of critical infrastructure. The agenda will include presentations by international experts, technology providers, and representatives from global cybersecurity institutions. It aims to facilitate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of practical solutions to meet growing cyber threats in military and security environments.
