The first mortars, which were modernized within the scope of the project initiated by the Turkish Defense Industry Agency (SSB) and carried out by ASELSAN, were delivered to the Land Forces Command.
The modernized 60 mm, 81 mm and 120 mm mortars have higher fire rates, with higher precision and with fewer personnel when necessary.
President of Defense Industry Agency Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir shared the following on Twitter about the new deliveries:
“We made the first deliveries of 60, 81, 120 mm mortars, which we modernized by equipping them with a new targeting system, smart fire control system and laser range finders, to the TAF. Thus, our mortars had higher firing accuracy in a shorter time."
Within the scope of the Mortar Modernization Project initiated by the SSB and carried out by ASELSAN, the qualification and acceptance tests of the 60 mm commando mortar smart fire control system and the sub-component of the system, the ALRF-S50 laser rangefinder, the improvement of the 81 mm UT-1 bipod, and the new positioning system and The qualification and acceptance tests of the ALRF L-100 laser rangefinder, the sub-component of the system, and the qualification and acceptance tests of the new positioning system for 120 mm mortars and the ALRF-L100 laser rangefinder, the sub-component of the system, were successfully completed.
Within the scope of the project, many different qualification tests such as Initial Inspection, High - Low Temperature Operation, Strength, Vibration, Drop, and acceptance test activities in many different contents such as Accuracy-Distribution, EMI / EMC, Distance and Angle Measurements, High - Low Temperature Storage were successful completed.
