BOYGA, an autonomous multi-rotor UAV with mortar payload developed by STM with national resources, hits its target with full accuracy in the tests.
With a range of 5 km, BOYGA can send 81 mm mortar payload to its target.
STM shared the following statements on its Twitter account:
“If there is BOYGA in the sky, there is no rest for the enemy! The moments when BOYGA which is the work of our National Engineering power, dropped the 81 mm mortar ammunition it was carrying on the target with full accuracy and the destruction it caused on the target…”
BOYGA, Autonomous Multi-Rotor Combat UAV with Mortar Payload
The BOYGA project, carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, was first introduced at the 15th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF’21)
UAV BOYGA successfully carried out its first firing test in September 2021 in cooperation with STM and MKE.
The munition system integration of BOYGA is carried out by Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi INC.
BOYGA successfully completed the acceptance tests in June 2022 and was handed over to the Turkish security forces.
With a maximum take-off weight of 17 kilograms, BOYGA can stay in the air for 30 minutes with 1 piece of 81 mm mortar ammunition.
BOYGA can drop 81 mm mortar payload on the target thanks to the developed ballistic estimation algorithm within the planned mission through the Ground Control Station.
BOYGA’s ammunition was adapted to the release mechanism.
