The LOI was signed in a ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, attended by Hungary's Prime Minister, the Hungarian Minister of Defense, and senior executives from EDGE. The signing underscores the growing defense collaboration between Hungary and the UAE, further strengthening their bilateral relations.
Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE, noted, “This agreement is an important step in the cooperation between EDGE and the Hungarian Ministry of Defense. It marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at advancing defense capabilities and innovation.”The agreement paves the way for the Emirati company to supply CARACAL sniper rifles to the Hungarian Defense Forces, marking its first provision of such systems to a NATO member state. The partnership is seen as a key part of EDGE’s efforts to expand its presence in the European and NATO defense markets.
Hungary’s Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE further emphasizes the growing strategic cooperation between the two nations, with discussions focused on enhancing collaboration across defense, technology, and innovation sectors.
This new collaboration sets the foundation for EDGE’s continued involvement in Europe’s defense sector, aligning with Hungary’s defense priorities and contributing to long-term security goals.
