Australian defense technology firm DroneShield has received a $61.6 million order for counter-drone equipment from its European reseller, which is contractually bound to deliver the systems to a European military client. The agreement comprises three separate follow-on contracts and marks the largest deal in the company’s history.
The contract includes handheld drone detection and mitigation systems along with related accessories. DroneShield expects to complete deliveries during the third quarter of 2025, with payments scheduled across Q3 and Q4.
This single transaction surpasses DroneShield’s total 2024 revenue of $57.5 million, reflecting a sharp increase in order volumes compared to previous years. The company has expanded its production capacity in recent months to meet growing demand and anticipates delivering the full order within the quarter.
The deal comes amid broader efforts by DroneShield to strengthen its footprint in Europe. As part of this strategy, the company is establishing its first manufacturing and assembly site in the region. The new facility will function as a European Centre of Excellence, supporting local production, research, drone testing, and operator training. The site is expected to play a key role in qualifying DroneShield for additional regional procurement programs.
Europe currently accounts for more than AUD 1.1 billion in active sales pipeline opportunities across 55 programs, making it one of DroneShield’s most important markets. The company’s regional expansion aligns with the European Union’s ReArm Europe Plan / Readiness 2030 initiative, which seeks to boost defense investment, strengthen procurement autonomy, and accelerate support for Ukraine.
DroneShield has continued supplying upgraded systems to Ukrainian forces, with development supported by its engineering teams in Australia. According to the company, 91% of its Australian-made products were exported in 2024, highlighting the global demand for its technologies.
