Defense & Security 2025 opened today in Bangkok, bringing together more than 617 companies and 25 national pavilions from 38 countries. The four-day exhibition, held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center from 10–13 November, gathers government delegations, defense officials, industry representatives, and cybersecurity and technology specialists. Organizers expect around 28,000 professional visitors.
The event covers land, air, naval, space, and cyber capabilities. Exhibitors are presenting systems ranging from armored vehicles, missiles, UAVs, fighter aircraft models, submarines, and combat vessels to surveillance systems, electronic warfare suites, cybersecurity tools, and AI-enabled technologies. Internal security equipment, including CCTV solutions, access control systems, personal protective gear, and communication jamming devices, is also on display.
Several defense companies are showcasing new developments at Defense & Security 2025, including SAAB with updates related to the GRIPEN fighter program, and Hanwha Ocean with naval platforms. A significant share of the exhibition focuses on cybersecurity and data protection as defense institutions face evolving digital threats. Drone and unmanned systems have a visible presence as well, with participation from companies such as NAC Drones of Thailand and ST Engineering of Singapore.
The exhibition program includes technical sessions and panel discussions addressing emerging issues in defense. Among the key themes are Artificial Intelligence, Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems (LAWS), and the governance and legal considerations surrounding autonomous warfare. Sessions also examine space technology cooperation in Thailand, modernization of logistics for the Thai Armed Forces, and AI-based communications intelligence solutions.
Lao Muangdee, Chairman of Defense & Security 2025, stated that ongoing initiatives in Southeast Asia include strengthening coordination for humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
“This concept is to assemble the collective strength of ASEAN member states and stakeholders when natural disasters occur and to mobilize in a quick and coordinated manner under a single ASEAN banner,” he said.
He added that disaster relief remains an often overlooked responsibility within the defense sector.
The exhibition is open exclusively to government and business professionals. Official updates and imagery will be released throughout the event.
