Türkiye and Hungary have entered a new phase of defense industry cooperation with the signing of several key agreements during the 7th meeting of the Türkiye–Hungary High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, Türkiye’s top defense procurement official said Saturday.

Haluk Görgün, President of the Defense Industry Agency (SSB), said in a post on social media channel that the latest agreements reflect a partnership built not merely on commercial interests but on “mutual trust and long-term strategic objectives.”

Görgün said a newly signed Defense Industry Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for assessing joint opportunities and developing collaborative projects between defense companies of both nations.

As part of the arrangements, ASELSAN and Hungary’s 4iG Space and Defense Technologies signed a declaration of intent to form a joint venture, while Turkish armored vehicle manufacturer Nurol Makina and 4iG signed a strategic partnership agreement.

“This vision will allow our deep and meaningful cooperation to continue growing,” Görgün said, expressing gratitude to all institutions and colleagues involved.

The agreements underscore the deepening of bilateral defense ties as Türkiye and Hungary broaden their cooperation within NATO and across Europe.
