Boeing secures $4.7B contract for Poland’s largest Apache helicopter acquisition

Poland’s $4.7B Foreign Military Sales contract with Boeing will include 96 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, marking the largest Apache purchase outside the US

Boeing will build AH-64E Apache attack helicopters for multiple international customers, including 96 aircraft for the Polish Armed Forces, under a Foreign Military Sales contract valued at nearly $4.7 billion, the company announced on Wednesday. Poland’s order is the largest Apache acquisition ever made by a country outside the United States.

Deliveries to Poland are expected to begin in 2028. The Polish Ministry of National Defence has already started training pilots and maintenance crews on the platform and currently leases eight Apache helicopters from the U.S. Army.

“This important agreement allows us to begin building one of the largest and most formidable Apache fleets that the world has ever seen,” said Christina Upah, vice president of Boeing’s Attack Helicopter Programs. “Working closely with the Polish Armed Forces, we’re focused on disciplined execution to help enhance Poland’s defense capabilities and meet strong global demand for the most advanced attack helicopter.”

An offset agreement between Boeing and the Polish Ministry of National Defence will allow local industry to play a central role in maintaining and supporting the country’s Apache fleet. Boeing will also establish training programs and help build a composite materials laboratory in Poland.
