Türkiye’s unmanned combat aircraft Bayraktar KIZILELMA has successfully completed a performance test flight equipped with the ASELSAN-developed MURAD 100-A Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar.
The test footage was shared by Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar on his social media account.
Developed by ASELSAN, the MURAD 100-A radar features an AESA architecture that enables agile electronic beam steering and serves as a multifunctional fire-control radar for modern air combat operations.
According to ASELSAN, the system can simultaneously manage air-to-air and air-to-ground engagements, providing Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile guidance capabilities. With its wide frequency band and electronic beam steering in both azimuth and elevation, the radar offers high detection and tracking performance.
Utilizing Gallium Nitride (GaN) power amplifier technology, the radar achieves high efficiency while its digital beam-forming feature enables precise simultaneous tracking of multiple targets. The system’s “graceful degradation” design ensures operational reliability even in case of component failures.
By integrating MURAD 100-A, KIZILELMA enhances its sensor fusion capability, improving situational awareness in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The radar represents a significant step in Türkiye’s national fighter aircraft ecosystem, marking further progress in domestic electronic warfare and radar technologies.
