Airbus Defence and Space has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Cluster 2 to deploy next-generation digital solutions aimed at enhancing airport operations across the Kingdom. The agreement was formalized at the Paris Air Show in the presence of top aviation and industry officials from both parties.
Under the agreement, Cluster 2 will adopt Agnet Turnaround by Airbus, a digital coordination platform designed to improve real-time communication and operational efficiency. The system will be rolled out across Cluster 2’s network of 22 domestic and international airports.The collaboration focuses on improving airport workflows, on-time performance, and the overall passenger experience. It also aims to enhance situational awareness and coordination between ground crews, control centers, and security personnel.
Commenting on the partnership, Antoun Farra, Managing Director of Airbus Defence and Space in Saudi Arabia, emphasized the role of digitalization in shaping the future of airport management: “With Agnet Turnaround, we are enabling smarter, safer, and more connected airports that align with the Kingdom’s vision for the future of transportation.”
Cluster 2 CEO Eng. Badr Al-Dalami said the agreement supports Saudi Arabia’s broader aviation goals: “Partnering with Airbus allows us to enhance safety, reduce response times and create a unified operations ecosystem across our airports.”
Agnet Turnaround offers a secure platform that integrates multiple communication and automation tools to help aviation stakeholders manage daily operations more effectively, with a focus on improving On Time Performance (OTP).
