AMMROC and Airbus Defence and Space have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic cooperation aimed at expanding military aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities in the United Arab Emirates and the wider region.
The agreement was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 and focuses on strengthening sustainment and support services for Airbus military aircraft operators.
Under the MoU, the two companies will explore the establishment of Airbus-qualified MRO capabilities to support regional fleets while enhancing sustainment solutions for Airbus Defence platforms, including the C295 tactical transport aircraft and the A330 MRTT multi-role tanker transport aircraft.
The partnership combines AMMROC’s expertise in depot-level maintenance, airframe services, component support and military fleet sustainment with Airbus Defence and Space’s experience as an original equipment manufacturer.
The companies will also assess opportunities to leverage Airbus’ engineering expertise, technical support, training programmes and maintenance standards, while exploring the potential manufacture of selected aircraft components at AMMROC’s facilities.
According to the companies, the collaboration aims to strengthen the UAE’s aerospace industrial base, improve regional support capabilities and enhance long-term fleet readiness for military operators.
Jasem Al Marzooqi, CEO of AMMROC, said the agreement represents another milestone in the company’s efforts to expand its capabilities and deepen cooperation with leading global aerospace manufacturers.
He added that the partnership is intended to develop advanced sustainment solutions, strengthen national aerospace capabilities and support customers’ operational readiness.
The MoU reflects the shared objective of both companies to expand regional military aircraft support services while reinforcing the UAE’s position as a regional hub for military aerospace maintenance and sustainment.
