L3Harris demonstrates mobile counter-UAS and mission networking at US military exercises

U.S. defense company L3Harris Technologies announced the successful demonstration of its mobile counter-unmanned aerial systems (c-UAS) and tactical networking capabilities during two recent U.S. Army-led exercises, Project Convergence-Capstone 6 and Lightning Surge.

According to a statement from the company, L3Harris partnered with ARX Robotics UK during Project Convergence-Capstone 6 to integrate its CORVUS-RAVEN passive electronic warfare sensor onto the GEREON uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV). The integration is designed to allow operators to deploy passive drone detection sensors into forward or hazardous environments while remaining at a safe distance.

The CORVUS-RAVEN system detects signals associated with potential drone threats and provides bearing information. Built on an open architecture, it can generate TAK-compatible messages to integrate threat data directly into command-and-control applications and shared geospatial operating pictures.

In a separate announcement regarding the U.S. Army’s Lightning Surge exercise, L3Harris detailed the demonstration of its integrated mission networking solutions. The company showcased its communications systems, including the new Wraith Shield software enhancement, which enables dispersed military formations to collect and share battlefield data.

The company noted that the networking demonstrations align with the U.S. Army’s distributed command requirements and L3Harris’ ongoing role as a Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) transport layer provider.
