Shield Glass Technology, a subsidiary of Video Bus Egypt Group, is an Egyptian glass manufacturing company specializing in advanced security, ballistic and architectural glass solutions. With its own production facilities, the company supports armored vehicle programs and large-scale security infrastructure projects, supplying bulletproof glass for a wide range of defense and civilian applications. Khaled Abdel Wahab, Founder and Managing Director of Video Bus Egypt Group, spoke to Defensehere.com.

The company produces armored solutions for vehicles, with many of the armored platforms displayed at major defense exhibitions incorporating glass manufactured by Shield Glass Technology. It is also active in the design and production of presidential safe boxes and secure installations, as well as large-dimension bulletproof glass for buildings, with panels reaching up to six meters by two meters.

Highlighting the company’s capabilities, Abdel Wahab said: “We own our factory and have the capability to produce armored solutions for vehicles, buildings and high-security platforms, including large-dimension bulletproof glass that meets the most demanding protection requirements.”

Shield Glass Technology has delivered several high-profile projects, including presidential safe boxes for the Egyptian Police Academy, the Army Stadium and the New Ismailia Stadium, as well as a royal suite developed for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Four Seasons hotel. The company is a main supplier to the Egyptian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior, while also supporting multiple armored vehicle manufacturers.

Referring to certification and international cooperation, Abdel Wahab added: “Most of our products are certified by the Egyptian Army’s Research and Development authorities and by ULOM laboratory in Germany, and we work in close partnership with companies around the world to develop the optimal glass combination for each specific project.”

Among its recent achievements, Shield Glass Technology has developed armored vehicle glass certified to withstand 50-caliber ballistic threats. Operating on a project-based model, the company engineers customized glass compositions to balance protection levels, thickness and operational requirements.
