U.S. approves $510M sale of JDAM kits to Israel

The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to Israel involving thousands of Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits and associated support, with a total estimated value of $510 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) formally notified Congress of the proposed sale on June 30, 2025.

Under the request, Israel seeks to procure 3,845 KMU-558B/B JDAM guidance kits designed for BLU-109 bomb bodies and 3,280 KMU-572 F/B kits for MK 82 bomb bodies. The proposed package also includes engineering, logistics, and technical support from both U.S. government personnel and contractors, along with other program-related services.

The Boeing Company, based in St. Charles, Missouri, is listed as the principal contractor. Some of the JDAM kits may be sourced from existing U.S. government inventory. No offset agreement has been proposed so far, but any such arrangement would be negotiated directly between Israel and Boeing.

Implementation of the sale does not require additional U.S. personnel to be deployed to Israel.
