Sweden orders new launcher system for Gripen fleet

The Royal Protocol and Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), a Public Investment Fund company, have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at exchanging expertise and supporting the development of national capabilities.

The agreement was signed by Khalid bin Saleh Al Abbad, Chief of the Royal Protocol, and Eng. Thamer AlMuhid, CEO of SAMI, during a ceremony attended by senior officials from both entities.

Under the cooperation framework, the two sides will carry out joint projects involving SAMI Land and SAMI Advanced Electronics. The collaboration includes initiatives in protocol management, land systems, advanced electronics, maintenance, technical training, and after-sales services. The memorandum also covers human capital development programs for Royal Protocol personnel.

According to the statement, the partnership aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to localize industrial and technological expertise and promote cooperation between government bodies and national defense companies. The collaboration is expected to enhance operational integration and contribute to the Kingdom’s efforts in digital and institutional transformation.

The agreement reflects both sides’ intent to improve efficiency in official services and protocol operations, reinforcing the use of domestic solutions across government sectors.
