German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems and Airbus Defence and Space have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop an interoperable, autonomous, and sovereign aerial reconnaissance ecosystem. The agreement was announced on the opening day of the Paris Air Show 2025 and marks a significant step toward closer collaboration on European defense technologies.

The MoU, signed by Quantum Systems CEO Florian Seibel and Airbus Defence and Space CEO Michael Schoellhorn, aims to integrate Quantum’s modular MOSAIC UXS architecture with the Airbus Combat Cloud. The collaboration is designed to deliver scalable, mission-ready solutions that combine real battlefield experience with advanced AI capabilities.

“This alliance is about more than technology,” said Seibel. “It’s about ensuring Europe has full control over its data, infrastructure, and future. By joining open systems with strategic scale, we’re creating a new benchmark for sovereign capability in aerial operations.”
