Türkiye’s state-owned defence manufacturer Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) is showcasing the capabilities of its ALPAY Mine-Clearing System, developed to provide Turkish forces with safe corridors through mined terrain.
Designed entirely with national engineering and domestic technologies, ALPAY enables motorised units and infantry to advance safely across mine-contaminated areas during operations. The trailer-mounted system can be transported by armoured personnel carriers, tanks or trucks, and is effective against all anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, according to MKE.
ALPAY uses a rocket-propelled explosive line charge containing 400 kg of C4, offering a 99% clearance reliability rate. Once deployed, the line charge can be launched up to 200 meters, creating a corridor roughly 10 meters wide and 100 meters long, neutralising mines buried as deep as one meter. After clearance is confirmed, troops can advance through the secured lane.
The system can be made operational by two personnel in about 15 minutes and is designed for use in all weather conditions.
ALPAY provides a reliable solution to the growing global threat posed by mine-affected terrain and also carries significant export potential. The system is already in active use by Turkish forces in operational zones and border areas where mine risks persist.
