BAE Systems and Wojskowe Zak\u0142ady Motoryzacyjne S.A. (WZM), a leading Polish defense company, have signed a license agreement aimed at improving the operational readiness of the Polish Land Forces\u2019 M88 Armored Recovery Vehicle (ARV) fleet.<\/p>\n
The agreement outlines the use of BAE Systems’ intellectual property by WZM to carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on the M88A2 fleet. This collaboration ensures that the vehicles remain fully operational, supporting battlefield recovery and repair operations.<\/p>\n
WZM, a member of the PGZ Capital Group, has extensive expertise in maintaining tracked armored vehicles, and this partnership emphasizes Poland\u2019s critical role in supporting its military\u2019s newly acquired equipment. The agreement is expected to bolster the local defense industry while enhancing the Polish military’s operational capabilities.<\/p>\n
As part of the agreement, BAE Systems will assist in ensuring the M88A2\u2019s continued operational status, which is vital for the Polish Land Forces\u2019 recovery capabilities. The M88A2 is equipped with upgraded armor protection and enhanced horsepower, allowing it to recover vehicles up to 70 tons in weight, including the M1 Abrams tank.
