Turkish defense exports rise 16.2 percent to reach $6.3 billion through August

Turkish defense and aerospace exports reached $6.3 billion in the first eight months of 2026, marking a 16.2 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, according to Haluk Görgün, Secretary of Turkish Defence Industries (SSB).

In a statement released on his official social media account, Görgün reported that monthly defense and aerospace exports stood at $511.4 million in August 2026.

The disclosed data also showed sustained growth over a broader timeframe, with total sector exports over the trailing 12-month period increasing by 29.3 percent compared to the previous period to reach $10.9 billion.

Görgün stated that the export figures reflect domestic engineering competence, expanding manufacturing capacity, and an increasing presence in international defense markets. He added that efforts remain focused on sustaining high-value and competitive export performance across a growing number of partner nations.
