The number of aircraft in Turkish Airlines' (THY) fleet has reached 400 with the delivery of an Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat made a statement on his social media account about the number of aircraft in the company's fleet reaching 400. Bolat shared the following information:
"As of this week, our 400th aircraft has joined our fleet. Painting will be done at our Turkish Technic facilities at Atatürk Airport. Like all our other aircraft, we wish you safe flights and good and fruitful earnings. We are planning to organize a beautiful and meaningful organization on Saturday, March 4, regarding this aircraft. "
Noting that they wanted to give a special name to the 400th aircraft due to the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that took place on February 6, Bolat said, "As THY, our tradition is to give the names of our cities and towns to our aircraft. So far, we have given the names of all our cities and major districts to our aircraft. Then, we want it to be a district name that symbolizes that we will unite as one heart as a nation, and that we will heal the wounds in a short time and give stronger and more beautiful new settlements to the earthquake victims."
