Six T129 ATAK helicopters produced by Turkish Aerospace will be delivered to Nigeria before the first quarter of 2023.
The T129 ATAK is a twin-engine, tandem seat, multi-role, all-weather attack helicopter.
Nigeria is preparing to purchase the T129 ATAK attack helicopter produced by Turkish Aerospace in counter-terrorism operations.
Nigerian Air Force Commander Oladayo Amao said on Thursday that the Nigerian Air Force will take delivery of more fighter jets and helicopters.
Making statements about the additional new platforms expected to be delivered to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Amao, announced that among the platforms to be purchased are 2 CASA-295 military transport aircraft, 2 Beechcraft King Air 360, 4 Diamond DA-62 surveillance aircraft, 3 Wing Loong II UCAV and 6 T-129 ATAK helicopters.
Amao stated that President Mohammed Buhari has approved the delivery of vehicles for NAF.
These additional platforms are expected to be delivered to NAF before the end of the first quarter of 2023.
Defense sources stated that, apart from Nigeria, another African country is in talks for the T129 ATAK.
