Sweden’s Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has procured the VIKING Uncrewed Ground Vehicle (UGV) from IDV (Iveco Defence Vehicles) as part of its Demonstrator Autonom Mångfunktionell Markplattform (DAMM) / Autonomous Multifunctional Ground Vehicle Demonstrator Programme, IDV announced in a recent LinkedIn post.
Alongside the UGV acquisition, FMV has also partnered with IDV for a Command and Control Basestation and will receive ongoing technical support for integration and upgrades throughout the program.
The VIKING UGV, equipped with IDV’s MACE AI-based autonomy stack, is being adopted by an increasing number of military users for experimentation and concept development. The platform has demonstrated its versatility by integrating various payloads for logistics, reconnaissance, surveillance, CBRN, and combat support roles.
In its LinkedIn announcement, IDV highlighted the growing demand for the VIKING UGV and expressed enthusiasm for the continued success of this collaboration.
