Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has secured a £20 million contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) for its TROPHY Active Protection System (APS).
Through rigorous evaluation, the UK MOD recognized the TROPHY APS as an indispensable addition to safeguard the Challenger 3 MBTs and their esteemed crew members against modern battlefield threats. The TROPHY APS boasts a proven track record of success, having been operational and combat-proven in various scenarios worldwide.
TROPHY APS
TROPHY can be integrated with all armored platforms – tanks or APCs, wheeled, tracked, MBTs, and 8x8s – and is the only fully-integrated APS fielded by NATO. Integrations include the US Army’s Abrams MBTs, Israel’s Merkava MBTs and Namer APCs, the UK’s Challenger MBTs, and Germany’s Leopard 2 MBTs. The system has also been integrated and tested on Bradleys, LAV-IIIs, and Strykers. TROPHY can be mounted on the weapon station or on the platform itself, with relatively low impact on size and weight.
