In a video shared by General Atomics, Mojave UAV takes off and lands within 300ft (<100 meters).
The General Atomics Mojave is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of short takeoff and landing (STOL). First unveiled on December 9, 2021, General Atomics states that it is to fulfill the roles of reconnaissance, close air support and armed overwatch.
Short-Takeoff and Landing (STOL) from Semi-improved Runways
According to General Atomics, Mojave provides options for forward-basing operations without the need for typical paved runways or infrastructure. It can takeoff and land from countless remote semi-improved surfaces while under pilot control via a traditional ground control station or scalable command and control laptop solution. STOL capability increases the number of employment options, potentially including aircraft carrier-based options, unlocking naval missions and sea-based support for special operations forces.
