Lockheed Martin España S.A., the Spanish branch of Lockheed Martin, has signed a new industrial cooperation agreement with Spain’s Ministry of Defense, creating a pathway for Spanish firms to contribute to the production of components for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (PAC-3 MSE).
The agreement was signed during the ongoing FEINDEF 2025 defense exhibition in Madrid and sets the stage for future collaboration with Spanish companies Sener and Oesía-Tecnobit. According to the terms, Sener will focus on the design and development of PAC-3 MSE actuators based on Lockheed Martin’s technical requirements, while Oesía-Tecnobit will manufacture cables and harnesses for the same system.
The deal builds on partnerships that began in 2023 and represents a further step in the localization of missile production capabilities within allied nations. The initiative aims to bolster engineering and manufacturing capacity within Spain and integrate domestic suppliers into a broader transatlantic defense supply chain.
In addition to supporting Spain’s industrial base, the agreement is expected to contribute to the global resilience of the PAC-3 MSE supply network. Currently, more than 3,100 Lockheed Martin employees are involved in the program worldwide.
Spain’s participation in the PAC-3 MSE program was formalized through an intergovernmental agreement with the United States in 2024. The system, which is designed to intercept ballistic and air-breathing threats using direct-impact technology, will be deployed to enhance Spain’s Patriot missile battalions.
Lockheed Martin has had a presence in the Spanish defense sector for over four decades and continues to deepen its collaboration with local industry through initiatives such as this.
