The US military and its foreign partners have awarded Lockheed Martin an approximately $12 billion deal to manufacture 145 more F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter jets.
Full-rate production of three F-35 variants under procurement lot 18 is covered under the agreement, which was announced on Friday.
48 F-35As will be delivered to the US Air Force, and 16 additional F-35Bs and five F-35Cs will soon be received by the US Marine Corps. Additionally, the US Navy will receive 14 F-35C aircraft.
Additionally, under foreign military sales agreements, 39 F-35As and seven F-35Bs will be supplied to allies across the world. Also, 15 F-35As and one F-35B aircraft will be delivered to undisclosed non-program partners.
The contract is planned to be completed in June 2027, with the majority of the work occurring in Texas and California.
