KoçSavunma's underwater telephone SATEL enables seamless communication with submarines

Developed by Koç Information and Defense Technologies (KoçSavunma), SATEL, an underwater telephone, facilitates seamless communication with submarines, marking an advancement in naval technology.

The TB-SH-05 underwater telephone, which was granted a license by the Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Türkiye (TÜBITAK), enables effective communication between surface and submarine vessels.

This device has already been approved for integration into newly manufactured ships, notably including those constructed under MİLGEM (National Ship) project and domestically-built Offshore Patrol Ships, enhancing their operational capabilities.

SATEL operates as a microprocessor-controlled communication system, utilizing acoustic waves to ensure reliable transmission underwater.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the NATO-compliant device can record audio signals received and transmitted over a span of 24 hours.

These recordings are easily transferable to a computer via an SD card.

Additionally, an optional auxiliary unit allows communication from different points within the ship.

The versatility of SATEL extends to its physical configurations, available in both floor-standing desktop and 19-inch rack-mountable versions, complete with shock isolators for stability.
