KBR has been awarded a $229 million task order to provide lifecycle research and analysis for U.S. Army cargo helicopter systems. The contract falls under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoDIAC) multiple-award contract vehicle and was issued by the U.S. Air Force’s 774 Enterprise Sourcing Squadron. The work will be conducted over five years in Huntsville, Alabama.
Under the agreement, KBR will conduct research, analysis, and assessments to enhance the availability and reliability of the CH-47 Chinook helicopter while reducing support costs. The scope of work includes maintainability and interoperability analyses, logistics management, independent verification and validation, and cost assessments to improve sustainability efforts. The contract covers support for both the U.S. Army’s Cargo Helicopter (CH) Project Management Office and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) partners.
The CH-47 Chinook is a key asset in the Army’s fleet, used for troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, disaster relief, and combat operations.
KBR has a longstanding relationship with the U.S. Army’s aviation programs, having supported the Army’s Program Executive Office for Aviation for over 35 years. The company has previously worked on CH-47 helicopter contracts for the past decade.
The DoDIAC, sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center, provides technical data management and research support for the Department of Defense and federal agencies. Established in 1946, the program facilitates collaboration and technological development within the defense sector.
