Embraer has secured a firm order from ANA Holdings Inc. for 15 E190-E2 aircraft, with options for an additional five. This marks the first order for Embraer’s next-generation E2 jets from a Japanese airline. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028 as part of ANA’s fleet renewal strategy.
The E190-E2, the most fuel-efficient and quietest aircraft in its class, will enhance ANA’s domestic network while offering improved passenger comfort. The aircraft’s two-by-two seating configuration ensures no middle seats, providing a more spacious and comfortable experience.
“We are honored that Embraer’s E190-E2 will join ANA’s fleet, and we look forward to the first delivery in 2028,” said Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer of Embraer Commercial Aviation. “The E2’s size perfectly complements ANA’s existing narrowbody fleet, while its efficiency and environmental benefits align with the airline’s sustainability goals.”
Embraer’s E-Jets have been operating in Japan since 2009, with dedicated support personnel in the country. ANA’s new E190-E2s will be the first of the latest-generation E-Jets to operate in Japan, featuring a modern, quiet cabin with larger windows and enhanced passenger amenities.
The E190-E2 is part of Embraer’s E2 family, designed for superior operational efficiency and reduced environmental impact. Compared to the first-generation E-Jets, the E190-E2 achieves a 25% reduction in carbon emissions and fuel burn, supporting the global aviation industry’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The aircraft is certified to operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and has successfully demonstrated flights with 100% SAF.
With more than 1,800 E-Jets delivered worldwide, Embraer’s E-Jet program remains one of the most successful in the industry, serving over 80 airlines in 50 countries. ANA’s order reinforces the E2 family’s growing presence in Asia and its role in shaping the future of regional aviation.
