İsmail Demir: Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle ZAHA completed the self-adjustment test successfully

The tests of the Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle ZAHA, produced by FNSS Defense, are in progress. last but not the least, ZAHA's self-adjustment test was successfully completed.

In a statement made by the President of the Presidency of Turkish Defense Industries Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir on his Twitter account, "The Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle ZAHA, which was specially developed to meet the needs of our amphibious marines, has successfully completed the self-adjustment test, which is an important step of the engineering verification procedures. In case of capsizing at sea in harsh weather conditions, ZAHA can flip itself over without putting the crew inside in harm and without using an additional system. With this test, verification procedures have been concluded and qualification tests are now starting."

FNSS will deliver a total of 27 vehicles: 23 are personnel carriers, 2 command and control vehicles, and 2 rescue vehicles to the Turkish Navy.

The body design and strong water jets give ZAHA high mobility with a maximum speed of 7 knots at sea and 70 km/h on land. ZAHA, which can climb 60% steep slope, can easily cross 90cm-high obstacles and 2meter-wide ditches. ZAHA has high firepower with its remote-control turret fitted with a 12.7mm machine gun and 40 mm Automatic Grenade Launcher.
