HII announced that its Mission Technologies division has been awarded a contract worth approximately $182 million to provide logistical support for U.S. Air Force F-16 pilot training devices.
Under the five-year contract, HII and its subcontractor, Trident Military Systems LLC, will provide maintenance for the U.S. Air Force’s Mission Tactics Trainer Training System Support Center. These simulation systems are used by the U.S. Air National Guard, U.S. Air Force Reserve Command, and the U.S. Navy.
According to Michael Lempke, president of Mission Technologies’ Global Security group, providing U.S. Air National Guard pilots with world-class training devices is essential for maintaining a combat-ready force and ensuring national security. He stated that HII, in collaboration with Trident Military Systems, will apply its expertise in aviation training to enhance mission effectiveness, improve pilot safety, and support distributed mission operations.
Work will primarily be conducted in Mesa, Arizona, complementing HII’s existing contracts, including Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) for F-15 pilot training, the Air National Guard’s Distributed Training Operations Center, and Mobility Air Forces.
John Scorsone, Mission Technologies director for modeling, training, and simulation, noted that the addition of the Air National Guard F-16 MTT contract expands HII’s portfolio of U.S. Air Force aviation training programs. He emphasized that HII will utilize its DMO test tools recently made available to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Advanced Training Capabilities Program office, including efforts to achieve full operational capability of the Joint Simulation Environment at the Joint Test and Training Center Nellis.
HII provides high-value engineering and technology solutions for multi-domain training, creating synthetic and live training environments that enable realistic mission rehearsals.
