HAVELSAN provides training over 8,600 pilots with domestic flight simulators

Ankara-based software company HAVELSAN, a major flight simulator manufacturer which delivered full flight simulators (FFSs) to flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) on May 5, has supported the training of over 8,600 airline pilots to date on its devices, the company said in a press release Thursday.

The pilots were trained on HAVELSAN Boeing B737NG and Boeing B737MAX FFSs, including two EASA-certified B737MAX FFSs.

The company is proud of the impact that its training devices are having on the aviation industry in Türkiye, the press release said, noting that the company is actively working on expanding this impact to airlines and training centers around the globe.

HAVELSAN CEO Mehmet Akif Nacar said they are “proud to support Turkish pilots in their training with highly sophisticated Turkish-made equipment, which will enhance their skills, ensuring they are well prepared for the demands of modern aviation.”

Recently, in March, HAVELSAN announced that it is taking steps to ramp up activities to support airlines and training center operators with their pilot training requirements. This includes the ability to manufacture up to 8 FFSs and 4 flight training devices (FTDs) per year, as well as support airlines and simulator training centers with their expansion plans through flexible solutions.

HAVELSAN’s order book includes device contract awards from a number of airlines including THY, which placed an order for a total of eleven (11) full flight simulators and FTDs, as well as device orders from SunExpress and well-known independent pilot training group IFTC.

Since the beginning of 2024, HAVELSAN has delivered a number of Boeing B737MAX and Airbus A320 FFSs and achieved subsequent EASA certification of devices. It also collaborated with airline partners such as THY to support its airline customers with flexible solutions, such as setting up a THY training center location in the Turkish capital Ankara.

HAVELSAN particularly focuses on providing industry-leading after-sales support and discussing long-term cooperation projects with customers. HAVELSAN is currently actively seeking additional airline or training center operators to share information about its products and the unique offering that it can provide.
