Ground and flight testing ongoing for Turkish Aerospace’ ATAK 2

The Heavy Class Attack Helicopter ATAK 2 developed by Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) is continuing to test its ground and flight capabilities.

The ATAK 2’s first engine fire-up was on April 26, 2023, and it completed its first flight on April 28, 2023.

Work began as part of the Heavy Class Attack Helicopter Project in cooperation between the Defense Industry Agency and TAI on February 17, 2019.

The ATAK 2 is the world’s third helicopter in its class, weighing 10 tons with an ammunition capacity of 1,200 kilograms.
