Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. company, announced at VAI Verticon 2025 the delivery of Global Medical Response’s (GMR) first IFR-configured Bell 407GXi. This marks the beginning of 24 planned aircraft deliveries to the air medical service provider.
“Bell is proud to deliver the first aircraft in this series to Global Medical Response,” said Lane Evans, Managing Director of North America Sales, Bell. “We are confident that the IFR-configured Bell 407GXi platform will enhance Global Medical Response’s operations and its ability to serve more patients in need.”
In November 2024, Bell signed a purchase agreement with GMR for fifteen Bell 407GXis outfitted with IFR configuration kits, with an option to buy nine additional aircraft. Once all deliveries are complete, GMR’s Bell fleet will total 250 helicopters.
“Global Medical Response is excited to welcome our first IFR-configured Bell 407GXi to our EMS family,” said Nick Loporcaro, President and CEO, Global Medical Response. “We are proud to bring this new design not only to our patients but also to our crews, who save lives in the air and on the ground each and every day.”
The Bell 407GXi, capable of cruising at 133 knots (246 km/h), features single-pilot IFR capability and an adjustable cabin space.
“We are thankful for our long-standing relationship with Bell and their commitment to our critical health care work in communities across the country,” said Daniel Sweeza, National President of Air Operations for GMR. “The addition of the Bell 407GXi to our fleet will enable our teams to continue to reach patients who need us and provide the critical care we’re known for—from urban centers to rural communities and even disaster zones.”
