UK certifies GA-ASI’s Protector as first of its kind

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) announced that the UK Civil Aviation Authority has certified the Protector RG Mk1 Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), making it the first RPAS of its kind to be certified for flight in UK airspace.

The certification confirms that the aircraft complies with NATO airworthiness standards.

GA-ASI stated that this is a significant achievement in the development of the Protector program and demonstrates the company’s commitment to working closely with the UK Ministry of Defence and Civil Aviation Authority.

The Protector is designed to meet UK and NATO safety and operational standards and is intended to support a variety of missions.
