Vard, Fincantieri’s subsidiary in Norway will construct two more hybrid vessels for the offshore wind market, which rises the number of vessels ordered to four.
The Windward Offshore consortium has considered options for the design and construction of two Hybrid Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs).
The first half of the order is expected to be delivered Q3 2025 and Q1 2026. The remaining two vessels are scheduled for delivery in Q2 and Q3 2026.
According to the statement from the company, the vessels will support energy majors globally in constructing, commissioning, and maintaining offshore wind parks.
The 87.5-meter-long vessels will have a beam of 19.5 meters and will be equipped with a height-adjustable motion-compensated gangway with an elevator system, and a height-adjustable boat landing system. The CSOVs will have accommodations for 120 persons on board. They will be equipped with a hybrid battery system and they will also be prepared for future operation on green methanol.
