UAE based defense conglomerate, EDGE Group, signed 15 billion Dirhams ($4.08 billion) worth of sales and deals, the Director of International Business at EDGE Group, Miles Chambers, announced.
In an interview with defensehere.com, Mr. Chambers announced that EDGE Group has succeeded in growing the number of its products portfolio by more than 400% as well as its export sales by over 500% from 2021 to 2022.
“One of the key landmark transactions we announced on this is €1 billion program we've done for the sale of three Corvette class vessels to the government of Angola,” Chambers stated.
Chambers also mentioned that one of the most important investment moves taken by the Group was the acquisition of majority stake in Milrem Robotics, an Estonian company and of one the industry leaders in terms of developing and producing unmanned ground vehicles.
“I think part of our export and our international expansion is a combination of sales from the UAE as well as with strategic partnerships and investments abroad,” Chambers stressed adding that EDGE Group is also currently working with a number of Turkish defense companies and that they have signed a number of mutually beneficial partnerships with them.
Finally, Mr. Chmabers mentioned that at EDGE group they will be looking forward to meeting with existing clients and potential customers and partners at Dubai Airshow which will be taking place in Dubai in November. He also added that the Group will also be joining a number of international exhibitions such as DSEI that will be taking place in London in mid-September.
