EDGE Group’s subsidiary, LAHAB, the only ammunition manufacturer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Indonesian state-owned PT Pindad, a leading defense manufacturer in Asia have inked a preliminary agreement to investigate potential collaborations in defense manufacturing, EDGE Group said in a press release Monday.
Additionally, they’ve signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate the supply of defense equipment.
During the Indonesia-UAE Business Week 2024 in Bali, these agreements were formalized in the presence of Suhail Al Mazrouei, UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
LAHAB aims to explore avenues for enhanced industrial cooperation between the two defense sectors under the preliminary agreement.
As per the MoU, LAHAB will provide defense equipment to PT Pindad for manufacturing purposes.
These agreements signify the ongoing commitment of both nations to strengthen Indonesia’s defense industry capabilities and boost bilateral trade, aiming to reach $10 billion by 2030 under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
