UAE-based EDGE Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Brazil’s state-owned Naval Projects Management Company (EMGEPRON) during the LAAD 2025 defence exhibition in Rio de Janeiro. The agreement sets the framework for cooperation on defence technologies, including weapons systems, missiles, torpedoes, and advanced precision devices.
EMGEPRON, a company affiliated with Brazil’s Ministry of Defence, manages naval projects and provides services related to military vessels, onboard combat systems, ammunition, oceanographic research, and logistical support. The MOU outlines technical information exchange and the potential for collaboration in developing defence solutions for strategic military applications.
Tiago Silva, EDGE Group CEO for Latin America, stated that the agreement strengthens EDGE’s position in the Brazilian market and opens opportunities for joint projects with key stakeholders, including the Brazilian Navy.
EMGEPRON’s CEO, Vice Admiral Amaury Calheiros, noted that the partnership presents an opportunity for advancing technological capabilities and expanding into international markets. He added that the collaboration aligns with efforts to enhance Brazil’s defence industry and support national defence exports.
The agreement establishes a foundation for future discussions on co-developing defence solutions in Brazil, with EMGEPRON serving as a technical partner in international defence projects.
