Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is preparing to deliver the first shipments of its Airshow HD entertainment system integrated into Venue smart monitors, providing a standalone in-flight entertainment (IFE) solution for business aviation.
For the first time, business jet operators—from light jets to super midsize and heavy aircraft—will have access to Collins’ Airshow HD interactive moving maps, streaming entertainment, and 4K resolution displays in a single hardware system, without requiring an upgrade to a full Venue cabin management system.
“Airshow HD unlocks the full potential of the Venue smart monitor, allowing business jet owners increased options to upgrade and customize their cabin entertainment systems at the pace they prefer,” said Nathan Voight, vice president and general manager of Business and Regional Avionics at Collins Aerospace. “The standalone Airshow HD and smart monitor system provides the flexibility, customization, and usability aircraft owners and operators have been searching for in cabin entertainment solutions.”
The system includes the Airshow HD mobile application, allowing passengers to control cabin monitors, iconography, and functionality via smartphones and tablets. With iOS and Android downloads available soon, users will be able to interact with Airshow HD from their personal devices or cast content to cabin monitors.
Designed for easy installation, maintenance, and upgrades, the standalone IFE system integrates with aircraft connectivity solutions, allowing passengers to switch between entertainment, flight information, and personal content for a seamless in-cabin experience.
Available for various aircraft sizes and configurations, the system supports touchscreen smart monitors and third-party applications, including streaming services, satellite TV, and personal media devices.
Collins Aerospace is offering demonstrations of the standalone Airshow HD and smart monitor IFE solution this week at booth #125 at the Aircraft Electronics Association Convention & Trade Show.
